There is something special about knowing your jewelry is one of a kind. A quality piece of handmade jewelry is really a wonderful find.
Mary Tyler of Tyler Stained Glass Creations makes wonderfully unique and stunningly beautiful jewelry pieces. Both edgy and nostalgic at the same time, Tyler Stained Glass Creations will earn you compliments where ever you go. Take a look at this cute bird pendant.
Mary Tyler grew up loving to craft. After taking a stained glass class in 2009 she was hooked! Here is the rest of her story…
As I made a couple of panels, I would have fairly good sized scraps of glass that I hated to get rid of. It was all just too pretty! So I began to think…..can you made jewelry out of this? After doing a bit of research, I bought some lead-free solder and got to work! Many of my first pendants were simply random shaped pieces of glass with no design, or designs I created out of wire. I would wear them to work, and people started asking me about them. They started asking if I sold them, and I was like, sure. And that’s how it all began…that is how Tyler Stained Glass Creations was born.
If you take a look at her website now you’ll see that her jewelry has come far from the simple random shaped pieces of glass with no design. At Tyler Stained Glass Creations you’ll find modern designs with birds and owls, bright colored glass overlaid with nostalgic filigree designs, and many more styles. Most pieces are sold individually as rings, pendants, or earrings, and many are sold as sets with all three. All are handcrafted by Mary herself and all have a stylishly unique look.
Mary sent me a round earring set with matching pendant in red to review. I own relative little jewelry (and almost none now after our home was robbed last month). Thankfully, I brought the beautiful red stained glass earring and pendant set with me so I could wear them at Evo Conference so they escaped the thief’s grasping hands. As I compared this set with my store-bought jewelry I appreciated that I could tell my new stained glass jewelry was handcrafted, but I could also tell that the artisan who made it is very skilled at what she does.
For the quality of work the prices are very affordable. Rings are priced at $18 while earrings start as low as $5.
