Melissa and Doug’s Trunki is fun on the go! Review and GivAway!

I’m super excited to share this review with you!  If you are a fan of Melissa and Doug toys then, no doubt, you’ve heard of their newest innovation: Trunki.  Trunki was quite the hit during the Christmas season.  I was thrilled when Gummy Lump contacted me to review the Trunki.
I f you are not yet familiar with them, Trunki kids suitcases are ride on toys, luggage, and pretend play pals in one! Trunki is the greatest travel innovation since the wheelie bag! Trunki allows children to scoot along on their luggage through the airport or train station. This lightweight, sturdy, carry-on sized suitcase serves as luggage, riding toy, and transport for kids on the go! At home, Trunki may be used as a convenient kid-friendly storage bin too! Features include a tow strap, carry handles, secure catches, integrated wheels and stabilizers to prevent toppling over. Holds up to 75 lbs.

Trunki SaddlebagsSaddle up with a padded seat made of durable fabric, designed for comfort and fun when strapped onto your Trunki. Squeak the horn, keep your important things handy in the zippered pocket and pack extra items in the “hidden” compartments. Have more fun when you get where you’re going when your saddlebag transforms into a handy shoulder pack!

Trunki Tote BagsKeep travel necessities instantly accessible with this amazing pack-and-go tote. It is easily secured inside your Trunki with self-stick closures. When traveling by plane, the large zippered compartment makes it easy to access up-in-the-air activities. On land, the outside pocket and shoulder strap will help your child prepare to get going!

My boys and I (and occasionally my husband, too) travel a lot.  We usually just go on short trips to visit my family in Dallas or my husband’s family in Houston.  Even for a short trip there is so much to pack when you have kids!  Big Brother is getting older now and we are trying to teach him to be more independent.  The Trunki is the perfect sized suitcase for him to pack his clothes (or his traveling toys) in.

Big Brother was more than ecstatic when he saw his new “present”.  I think he was most excited about decorating it with the stickers that can be purchased to go on your child’s Trunki.  Before I let him put the stickers on I taught him how to open and close, lock and unlock his suitcase.  Big Brother was very particular about the stickers he wanted on so we put on the tiger face stickers, attached the saddlebags and off he went.  He got a big kick out of the fact that he could ride his suitcase.  I can imagine this being a lifesaver during long airport walks and waits.

*Trunki suitcase is sold separately from all accessories. Suitcase Was $39.99 Now $31.99

Head on over to GummyLump and check out their selection of Trunkis and accessories–they are all on sale right now!

OK, I hate to say this but I have never heard of the Trunkie… We are taking our very first trip (Mom and son) as a family (a new family :-) ) to Disney in October. I think this is a clever idea and concept. I am fearing what travel will be like with a toddler BUT I think its cute they can ride this! Even if I do not win the give-a-way I will have to look to see where I can purchase one of these locally. Thank you for informing us about it. :)
