For Spring 2012, Tea went on an island journey and traveled to Bali, a little place with a whole lot of happy! Our designers were truly inspired by everything from the dance and music to painting, woodworking, jewelry making and the island’s rich ikat and batik textiles. Upon their return, they created a truly incredible collection that includes a modern interpretation on traditional Indonesian patterns and Balinese rituals. The girls clothing features botanical jungle prints and bright, bold batik fabrics. The boys collection includes clothing depicting mystic characters and batiks with nature inspired motifs.
Tea Collection is truly unique in that it brings a taste of world cultures into our closets. I loved the Mercado Mexicano collection that we reviewed last fall. We got so many compliments on Little Brother’s Chiapas Futbol t-shirt.
This season Tea Collection showcases the exotic wonders of Bali. Generally, boys clothes are…well, normal. Boys clothes are boys clothes; there’s rarely an article of boys clothing that jumps out at you and makes you say, “WOW!”. The Tea Collection has tossed boring out the window with the Bali collection. The shirts, sweaters, and hoodies are exciting and will make moms like me say, “Oh, I want that!”. Okay, so I admit, I actually did say that when I saw the Growling Naga Zip Hoodie online. It-is-awesome.
Needless to say I was super excited when I opened the package of clothes we received to review and found the very hoodie I’d been coveting. It looks just as good on as it does in the catalog.
Big Brother was kind enough to do a photo shoot for me. What a ham!

One of the things I love about the kids Tea Collection clothes is that they fit average to slim. The Surplus Playwear pants Big Brother is wearing have an adjustable waist band! This is great for his skinny frame.
We also received a fun pair of pajamas to review. They were in the wash when I did the photo shoot so I’ll get some pictures of them up ASAP today. Like the other items we received to review they are totally cute!
