- Tecnu Outdoor Skin Cleanser~Use Tecnu® Original Outdoor Skin Cleanser after you have been outdoors to remove the rash causing oil, urushiol (oo-roo-she-all) from poison ivy, oak and sumac. Tecnu removes the oils to minimize the itch and irritation from poison ivy, oak, and sumac. It will also stop the itch from spreading. Tecnu Outdoor Skin Cleanser can also be used on pets.
Neither of the boys got scraped up while I had the Staphaseptic, and I didn’t feel like throwing Big Brother or myself into the woods behind the sign at the park that read, “Caution: Poison Oak”, so I didn’t get to see how effective the two were, but I was very pleased with the shampoo. The shampoo contains Tea Tree Oil so the scent was very pleasant.
Big Brother will be attending pre-K beginning this August and I’m dreading the inevitable exposure he’ll have to head lice. I had lice one time when I was a kid and, because I had very long hair, it was a dreadful! My poor mother had 10 kids she had to treat! I’ll be using the Licefreee Everyday Shampoo on a daily basis when Big Brother starts school.

I learned not to use Tecnu for at least 3 days after using hydrocortisone ointments.
Because the use of hydrocortisone thins the skin, allowing any topical application to the skin to penetrate more readily. My husband is highly allergic to poison oak & poison Ivy and he uses Tecnu for Poison Oak treatment all the time . So, this was good to know!

I learned that you should wait at least 3 days after using a hydrocortisone ointment before using Tecnu
that you could use it if nursing or pregnant, as long as you consutl physician first
